Our basement event space is available to hire as a resource for the local community. It is a versatile, intimate space perfect for gigs, meetings, workshops, rehearsals and more.  

Through our programme of events, we aim to provide a safe and creative space that foster the values of Cafe Kino. This includes music, independent & DIY arts, feminism, animal welfare, environmentalism, queer politics, equality and anti-racism. We ask that everyone hiring the space reads our Safe Spaces Policy. 

We charge a hire fee for most events in the basement. We can provide seating, a PA system (with in-house engineer) and a projector. We are able to add events to this website, our social media pages, Bristol Live Magazine, and there is space in the cafe dedicated to advertising events hosted by us. All events must finish by 10:00pm, when the cafe closes. There is standing space for 65 people and seating for 30. NB. Unfortunately the basement is not wheelchair accessible; the only access is via a flight of stairs.

We do not have any age restrictions on our license, so events are open to all ages!
